Like milky coffee - don't buy DeLonghi

A dying gift from my now departed lovely sister was a DeLonghi coffee machine. Great - make my own lattes and cappucinos. Two weeks later - descale light comes on. Spoke to customer services. That will be to do with the set up using water. Descaled. Two weeks later same thing. Sent back to Currys got a replacement, except I am convinced same machine. Two weeks later needs descaling. Phone Customer Services. Send it in. Machine kept for 6 weeks. Message from DeLonghi Italy, if you use the hot water function including steam, the descaler comes on three times quicker. So descale twice a month, using DeLonghi only products to maintain your warranty. Over the warrany you pay for the machine again in descale products. Don't buy DeLonghi.

Our Magnifica machine broke down

Our Magnifica machine broke down. It is impossible to contact DeLonghi using the details given online. It takes almost five minutes of pointless messages to reach the stage where they put you on hold and then don't answer. If you want a reliable machine with good service then look elsewhere.

Really poor after service

Really poor after service. Had a Dedica coffee machine given to me at Christmas. It is faulty. They will only take it in for repair and not replace it despite it being reported before the end of January. Clearly no extra time for faulty gifts. Will not be buying from them again.

Delonghi coffee machine

Hi,
I checked out quite a few reviews/descriptions of coffee machines but delonghi offered a video call to review their machine.
I had a call with them and they covered my questions and offered ongoing calls when you buy a machine to help you get the best out of it. The machine I bought is well engineered and easy to use. A great service.

Evade this company at all cost

Evade this company at all cost. The machines are of poor build quality and they reject the mandatory 2 years of EU warranty! We bought an ECAM 23.420.SB from Alternate.Es and we only used it with mineral water (bottle). After two moths the pump died so we contacted Alternate and were asked to send it back to Alternate in Germany. They in turn sent it to Delonghi and then told us it was not properly decalcified and repairing it would cost 100 Euro. This is impossible, so we asked them for the read out of the machine’s data. It showed 105 liter of water in total and that we decalcified two times (every time the machine told us to do so). We were not aware so we used the default water hardness setting, requiring a decalfication every 40 liters, however, DeLonghi told us later in an email that bottled water would be level 2, requiring a decalcification after 130 liters (so not even a single time). Even after they were caught “red handed”, they still refused to repair it on warranty without any further explication and offered to a) repair for 100 Euro, b) destroy it or c) send it back. We called Delonghi Espana and they told us, we should let them send it back to us and contact them again when it arrives. We did that. After the machine was here, they referred us to a small shop in our town where we should bring the machine to. After a short while, they contacted us and told us it would costs 200 Euro to repair it! LOL. The machine did cost around 300 Euro. Then we confronted Delonghi Espana with that, and they now play the let’s stick our head into the sand game. Every time you call them you have to explain the whole mess again. 2 weeks ago, the woman on the phone told us she has to talk with her manager first and we are still waiting for her to get back to us. Today their telephone system didn’t work properly and we were interrupted all the time. We are really frustrated with their product and support, so we leave this feedback.
I know Delonghi, you probably hate this Trustpilot site, but it accurately reflects the customer experience and quality of your products and support at least in our case and as it seems in many many more cases. If any Delonghi employee reads this, please contact us to resolve this! But I assume you don’t even care.

No problems at all.

This review is based on ordering, speed of delivery and corresponding throughout. I've not needed to speak/contact customer service so cannot comment on that.
Ordering was easy, price competitive, correspondence throughout was really clear and item arrived (even during 3rd lockdown) on time. Packaging was great and no issues at all with product. The coffee machine was a direct and identical replacement from a previous De'Longhi machine which had received a hammering over 7 years.

Zero star

I'm absolutely shocked with this company. Have ordered brand new milk jug for my coffee machine. After the parcel has been delivered firstly looks like the box was stored somewhere for many years full of dust and sh.t on it. After unpacking have found that milk jug is missing cleaning button! What a rubbish service. They need to collect the old one before they send new ones out. So that's mean for me other two weeks waiting time! What a joke seriously this service would describe like ZERO star

I had such a positive experience with…

I had such a positive experience with the De Longhi customer service team today. I called due to a problem with my coffee machine and spoke to a friendly team member named Pete, who went though some options and was super patient and friendly. I didn’t have to wait in queues or anything. When we couldn’t solve the issue, he arranged for Megan, the specialist technician, to give me a call. Megan was absolutely amazing, so efficient and clear, and I’m so grateful for the time they took out of their busy days to provide me with such a good experience. Thank you both so much, as well as the wider De Longhi team.

THIS COMPANY SUCKS!!!

If it was possible to give this company zero or negative stars, I would. A deep fryer we purchased in September of 2019 began having electronic and warming issues in August of this year. As it was originally purchased on-line via Bed, Bath and Beyond and still under its one year full warranty, my first attempt to return it was to one of their local stores here in Cincinnati. Unfortunately, they had discontinued carrying and selling this model and I was advised to contact the manufacturer directly. That is where this entire fiasco begins. I initially attempted to file a report and claim via their web site however, two weeks passed and I never received any type of return e-mail or acknowledgment for my effort there. The wait time via phone was well over an hour on two separate occasions and when I was finally able to speak to someone, they took all of my information and advised I would receive a return e-mail with instructions within the next few days. What followed has been over two months of e-mails from DeLonghi, requesting receipts, photographs and everything else you can possibly think of multiple times over. First, they asked if I wanted a replacement which I agreed to. They then advised I would need to cut the power cord and send them a photo of it. Done. A couple of days later I received another e-mail advising the fryer was not available at this time and asking if I would prefer a refund instead which I agreed to. A half dozen additional e-mails from and to DeLonghi providing them with copies of the original receipts at least three different times as well as my full name, address, etc. and I finally received a notice on 10/8/20 that the refund had been processed and could be expected in 3 - 4 weeks. A month later, still no refund. Another e-mail to them late last week requesting a status resulted in them requesting my mailing address again, which they have had on file since AUGUST!!! I then received another e-mail from them today advising my refund had been "re-processed" and should arrive in another 3 - 4 weeks. All this for a lousy $128.39! I called and was again on hold for close to an hour before I was able to speak to one of their lackeys. I was advised that the original cheque was processed and sent however, must have gotten lost in the mail. Yeah, right - and the dog ate my homework! They advised I should have my refund by the end of the month, but I'm not counting on it. I may actually have to file a legal action against these clowns. Simply ridiculous!

Worst possible customer service in the…

Worst possible customer service in the UK . No email address , can only be contacted by phone with very long waiting times (40 minutes ) . Changing a valve on my old bean to cup coffee machine costs half the price of a new unit . The new ones are not made in Italy anymore , came with faults so I sent it back .
Thank you very much DeLonghi but I think I'll take my business elsewhere .

Delonghi ESAM Bean-To-Cup-in the bin (after less than 6 months)!

Have had two Delonghi ESAM Bean-To-Cup coffee machines (one 4200 and one 2200 Venezia) and both have developed the same fault and stopped dispensing coffee. The first one stopped working after just over a year and the second after only five months. The first one we had to pack up and send away to be repaired, which took some time and they tried to deliver it back to a different address. Not wanting to go through finding packing materials, packing it up, waiting in for the courier to pick up, waiting in for them to deliver it back (hopefully to the correct address), and them it probably only working for a few weeks more, the most recent one we have put in the bin because they will not replace or refund (even though less than six months since we purchased it!).

The Delonghi name was synonymous with portable oil-filled radiators and has been the gold standard.

I had no reason to consider a knock-off brand.
